One kid,
one map.
I'm Šimon, 16, building LockAndGo solo from a Bratislava apartment. Here's the full story — who I am, why I started, how I pay for hosting, and why it stays free for you.
Why I built it
Last summer my neighbor messaged me at 10:30 PM asking where he could leave bags near the main train station for four hours — his bus to Vienna was at 6 AM the next day. I opened Google, the ZSSK website, Bounce, Stasher and Radical Storage. Each one only showed their own listings. No comparison. No comprehensive view.
So I made a map with my own notes. I shared it with friends from high school, and suddenly people I didn't know were using it. That's when I made it public.
How it works
LockAndGo is not a storage company. I'm a discovery layer — I aggregate 32 spots across Bratislava (Bounce partners, Radical Storage, LuggageHero, ZSSK manual storage and 24/7 lockers, self-service boxes at OC Nivy, cloakrooms at Aupark and Vivo!, hotel storage rooms). Click a spot, see details (price, hours, location photo), then book directly with the operator.
The price you pay is the same as if you booked directly. I don't add a markup. Bounce, Radical Storage, LuggageHero and Stasher pay me a commission for bookings routed through my site. The other spots (ZSSK, Nivy boxes, Aupark cloakroom, hotel storage, walk-in shops) are listed for free — no commission, but user trust matters more to me than a few extra euros. If the cheapest option isn't an affiliate, I'll still tell you about it.
Who it helps
- Tourists arriving from Vienna (BTS airport, Main Station, Mlynské Nivy bus station) — no desire to drag suitcases through Old Town.
- Day-trippers from Vienna or Budapest — drop bags in the morning, pick up before evening departure.
- Transit travelers Vienna ↔ Budapest/Prague stopping in Bratislava for 2–4 hours.
- Slovaks before flights — BTS airport has no proper storage; you store in town first.
- Locals moving apartments, waiting for housing, or that neighbor at 10:30 PM.
What I do when you write
Email info@lockandgo.sk or WhatsApp +421 948 929 260. I usually reply within 2–4 hours during the day, within 24 hours on weekends. Three messages I get most often:
- "Your listed price isn't right" → I fix it within 24 hours, thanks for the heads-up.
- "I run a café in the center and do bag storage, will you add me?" → Yes, free of charge. Send me the address, opening hours, and a photo.
- "My booking failed / I can't see my PIN code" → I can't help with that directly because bookings go through the operator. I'll send you their support link.
