Long-term luggage storage in Bratislava: what actually pays off

Left-luggage counters are priced for hours or a single day. At three days the bill starts to sting, and at a week you should be renting a storage unit instead. Here is exactly where the line sits.

Almost every price list in the city works the same way: the first day is cheap, every following day costs the same or nearly the same. Nobody notices over one night. Over five days you can pay more to park a suitcase than you paid for the flight.

Up to 3 days: normal storage still wins

Where the line sits: at €5/day you pass €35 after seven days, which is more than a month in a small self-storage unit. At €1.49/day the crossover moves out to about four weeks.

Watch out for self-service lockers on longer stays

Automated lockers are built for short drops, not for a week. The price lists say so plainly:

Nivy · self-service lockers

Lobby -1, opposite Alza, Nivy Shopping Centre · 24/7

Box M €8/24 h · €14/72 h · Box L €9/24 h · €15/72 h

After 72 hours your bag is moved to a storeroom and getting it back costs €30 to open plus €10 for every day in storage. This is the single most expensive mistake you can make with luggage in Bratislava.

Obchodná 9 · automated lockers

Obchodná 9 (by the Poštová tram stop) · 24/7

€6/24 h · +€6 for each additional day

No discount for longer stays. A week comes to €42, more than a month of self-storage.

From 4 days up: rent a storage unit

If you are dealing with a week or more, stop looking for left luggage and start looking for storage. Bratislava has three places that rent small units:

SELFSTORAGE · Nové Mesto (Turbínová 55)

Outdoor units accessible 24/7 · reception Mon–Fri 9:00 – 17:00

Units from about €31.50/month

Outdoor units are accessible around the clock, so you can pull something out at night. Fits a bicycle or skis too.

SELFSTORAGE · Petržalka (Kopčianska 17)

Warehouse 6:00 – 22:00 · reception Mon–Fri 9:00 – 17:00

Units from about €31.50/month

Close to Bratislava-Petržalka station, so it is reachable by train from Vienna and from the centre.

Storage Port · by Avion and IKEA (Ivanská cesta 26)

6:00 – 22:00 daily

Units roughly €55 – €210/month · minimum 14 days

Larger units with a two-week minimum. More of a moving solution than a travel one.

FAQ

Can I leave luggage in Bratislava for a week?

Yes, but not in an automated locker. For a week or more rent a self-storage unit from about €31.50 per month, or use staffed storage where the stay can be extended.

What is the cheapest luggage storage in Bratislava for several days?

For two to three days, Stasher from €1.49 per day and item, or ZSSK staffed storage where the first day is €2 and every following day is €1.50. Beyond four days, self-storage units are cheaper.

What happens if I do not collect my bag in time?

At the Nivy lockers your luggage is moved to a storeroom after 72 hours and retrieval costs €30 plus €10 for every day stored. Staffed storage normally just charges the standard daily rate.
