Where to Store Luggage at Bratislava Main Train Station
Four real options, right at the station or within a 5-minute walk: ZSSK manned storage at €2 with staff, 24/7 self-service lockers, the new LugLockers, and Bounce partners under 500 m. Here's what to pick.
Bratislava's main train station (Hlavná stanica) is the busiest place in the city for luggage storage. Travelers from Vienna, Budapest, Prague and Košice change here daily, and most want their hands free. We've checked every counter, locker and Bounce partner within 500 m — here's how it stacks up.
Address and orientation
Námestie Franza Liszta 11, 811 04 Bratislava. The station is about 1.2 km north of the historic center. From the exit you can walk down Štefánikova street to the center (15 min) or take trolleybus 201, 207 or 208 to Hodžovo námestie (5 min). The main entrance is at the front, parking to the left, the bus terminal to the right.
1. ZSSK manned storage (cheapest)
Námestie Franza Liszta 11 · roughly 6:15 – 20:00 (with breaks)
€2/day (≤15 kg) · €2.50/day (>15 kg) · stroller €1.50 · bicycle €2.50 · €1.50/day from the 2nd day
The classic left-luggage counter inside the station building. Hand over your bag, get a ticket, return it on collection. Value for money is unbeatable here — nothing else in the city comes near €2 for 24 hours.
The catch: opening hours vary by day and season, and staff take breaks. Arrive before 6:30 and you'll wait for it to open; after 20:00 it's closed and you'll need the self-service lockers. No online booking.
2. ZSSK self-service lockers (24/7, coins only)
Next to platform 1 · 24/7 · max 72 hours
From ~€2 · payment in coins only (€1 and €2)
Classic key lockers. Drop coins, take the key, open and return it on collection. No staff, no registration.
The catch: no coins, no locker. They don't take cards and there's no code display. If you don't have change, break a note at the station kiosk or ticket desk. After 72 hours the locker is emptied by ZSSK staff (with a fee).
3. LugLockers · Hlavná stanica (24/7 with online booking)
Námestie Franza Liszta · 24/7 · opened 2026
Online booking · luglockers.com
A new network that opened lockers inside the station building in 2026. The advantage over the ZSSK lockers is card payment and online booking. Check availability on their site before arriving — the booking system sometimes shows "€0 / not bookable", which means that day has no active slots yet.
4. Bounce partners within 500 m (most convenient)
Bounce has several cafés and shops near the station acting as storage points. Best fit for travelers who want to hand a bag to a person, have it behind a counter, and move on.
Hlavná stanica · 4.2★ · 186 reviews · 24/7
€5.90/day per bag · online booking · Bounce Guarantee
The best-rated Bounce spot by the station and one of the few 24/7 partners in the city. Book online, arrive with a QR code, done.
Within 500–800 m there are more Bounce partners toward Špitálska (the medical faculty), Obchodná and Námestie SNP. If you're heading into the center and want to drop your bag on the way, open the map and pick the closest one.
Walking directions from the station exit
- ZSSK storage and lockers — you don't go anywhere, they're inside the station building. Lockers by platform 1, manned storage next to it.
- LugLockers — also inside the station building; look for the signage, or ask at the ZSSK info desk.
- Bounce "Near Bratislava Station" — a 5-minute walk from the main building. You get the exact address only after booking — that's Bounce's standard so spots aren't overrun by walk-ins.
What NOT to do
- Don't expect the ZSSK lockers to take cards. Coins only. People queue at the ATM in the hall, then still have to find change at the kiosk.
- Don't leave bags unattended at the entrance. A station isn't the place to risk it — keep your bag with you or in a locker.
- Don't assume the manned storage opens on the dot. Staff take breaks and hours are an estimate — leave a buffer or pre-book Bounce.
- Don't put valuables in a self-service locker. Passport, money and laptop stay with you or go to manned storage.
- Don't lose your ticket. At ZSSK manned storage the paper ticket is the only way to get your bag back.

Bags overnight or between trains
Night train / bus before 6:00
Manned storage is still closed. Use the ZSSK lockers or LugLockers. If you have no coins and don't fancy hunting for an ATM at 5 a.m., the safest move is to pre-book the 24/7 Bounce spot.
A few hours between trains (4–8 h)
Best is ZSSK manned storage at €2 (cheapest) or a ZSSK locker if you have change. Heading out of the station? Pick a Bounce partner toward the Old Town.
Full day in Bratislava + evening train
Definitely Bounce or Radical Storage in the center — drop the bag once, collect on your way back to the station. €5–5.90 for 24 hours. See the map.
FAQ
Do the ZSSK lockers take cards?
No. Coins only, €1 and €2. This is the single most common reason people end up using a different option.
How big a bag fits in the lockers?
The station lockers are on the smaller side — a backpack or carry-on fits, a full 28" suitcase only just. For a big suitcase or multiple bags, use ZSSK manned storage or Bounce.
Can I book in advance?
ZSSK doesn't take reservations. Bounce and LugLockers do — via their sites or the map at /en/app.
What if I arrive at 3 a.m.?
Manned storage is closed. Three options stay open: ZSSK self-service lockers (coins), LugLockers (online), or the 24/7 Bounce spot by the station. If you know you'll arrive at night, book Bounce or LugLockers on the way.
